Apply to Volunteer Today!

We thank you for your interest in volunteering with Developing K.I.D.S.  There are several opportunities to engage with us to work toward our mission.  Upon completing this application,  our Executive Administrative Assistant will contact you with 3-5 days.

Developing K.I.D.S. welcomes volunteers to support our program activities and administration.  Volunteers are placed into one or more of four categories: Organization Oversight, Programs, Support Services or Outreach.  Organization Oversight volunteers may be invited to serve on our Board of Directors by first serving on one of our board committees as a volunteer.   Program volunteers assist and/or lead workshops, activities, field trips, and special events for participants and families.  Support Service volunteers prepare meals, implement their own fundraisers for us, provide environmental enhancement, and/or administrative support.  Outreach volunteers attend networking events and advocate on our behalf.  Additionally, outreach volunteers may assist with social media management and supporting staff at resource fairs and community events.

Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, groups and companies.  Program and support service volunteer opportunities are available for youth beginning at age 13.  We include volunteers in the evaluation of our programs and administration through surveys and focus groups.

One-time special event volunteers through companies or social groups must register as a group, complete a confidentiality agreement, optional photo release and some, if not all attend brief training.  All other volunteers must complete our volunteer application.  Prior to mandatory training for on-going volunteers, adult applicants must also apply for a Central Registry Clearance through the Department of Health and Human Services.  After applicants have received a DHHS clearance, we will perform a  criminal background check.  Approved applicants will be invited to attend an orientation and training session that provides an overview of the organization, volunteer manual review, volunteer opportunities, responsibilities, and a basic child and youth development workshop.  Reference checks listed on the application are completed on all youth volunteers for clearance.  During training, volunteers also complete a confidentiality agreement and an optional photo release.  Volunteers are cleared to begin after completing new volunteer training.

Please check your SPAM/Junk mail for the confirmation that your application was submitted.
