We’re bringing forth the leaders of tomorrow
Developing K.I.D.S. offers free, high quality after-school programming and development activities for Detroit youth
We offer programs for youth centered on academic enrichment, college readiness, summer jobs, recreation, mental health, and building life skills.
We hold Family Fun Nights throughout the year for youth and their families, provide parenting workshops, and engage in ongoing advocacy.
Developing K.I.D.S. offers special workshops and ongoing events on grief, loss, and trauma and mental health support. We help our families find the resources they need to grow and thrive.
Developing Kingdoms in Different Stages (K.I.D.S.) began in 2007 with a mission of building strong communities by reaching out to youth and their families through prevention / youth development, family management, and community support services.
Since then, the youth we have served have had a 99-100% high school graduation rate. In 2019 alone, we worked with over 618 youth through more than 1,600 hours of programming.
All programs are offered at no cost to participants.
